Starting your business in Southern Africa (commentary)
Starting a business is a challenge, especially in developing countries. The major advantage of being in a developing economy is the abundance of resource and the openess to what was once called access to capital. The transition now, with the economic changes in most Southern African economies in that industrial pschology has caught up in various areas, this transition has presented to the few nations an opportunity to use their skills to establish micro business strength. What is necessary is for the individual to grasp this change and use the time to develop lasting, but this time stable businesses.
Home industry, and home office pschology is necessary for people to escape the woes of long term harm from the endless search for resource in the upper echelon of society. We need a paradigm shift in our thinking to leave the age old dream to grow richer and bigger outwardly, to being richer and wiser inwardly in our approach to business. Entrepreneuship should not be an outward display of power, but a purposeful distribution of wealth by those who are willing to downsize not only their operations for effeciency, but their thoughts too, with good understanding.
My thoughts, on younger people starting out? Start with learning to do well. Be real and honest in your dealing wioth people, and develop a pschology that is is wise enough to win your war.
